Description

Drama Showcase. An LBC Crown FM production: Judge Jeffreys. Written, produced and directed by Richard Shannon and Tim Crook. George Jeffreys, 1st Baron Jeffreys of Wem, also known as The Hanging Judge, became notable during the reign of King James II, rising to the position of Lord Chancellor. Here actors (Mike Shannon, Mike McCormack, Alec Linstead, Kay Clayton, Douglas Blackwell, and Dallas Carrell(?)) portray the story of his life and career. Also included in the clip are advertisements for forthcoming dramas including Madame Bovary and A Tale of Two Cities, and the new London Radio Playwrights Festival (featuring the voice of its Patron, actor Don Henderson). Male presenter not identified.
