In this edition Tricia Ingrams talks to a man identified only as Percy, who has come out of retirement to work once again with horses. Percy tells of his life working with horses since the age of 13 and then on motor buses. He talks about horse behaviour; boredom leading to bad habits; horses’ suitability for work in the city; the crafts of harness-making, collar-making, and farriery and the changes he has witnessed in London over the years.
