- Description
- Washington correspondent Simon Marks reports on a peace mission by former US President, Jimmy Carter to the former Yugoslavia. Following his visit to Sarajevo where he met with Bosnian government officials, Carter is travelling to the Bosnian Serb headquarters in Pale. However, President Bill Clinton is keeping his distance from Carter’s freelance diplomacy, and other members of the five-nation Contact Group are said to be worried that the former president could step into a diplomatic trap in his meetings with the Serbs.
