Description
Interview with Carolyn Langley, mother of Claire Langley, one of the four teenagers who died in the Lyme Bay canoe tragedy, reacting to the trial verdict where Peter Kite, the managing director of Active Learning and Leisure Limited which owned the outdoor pursuit centre in charge of the students, was found guilty of their manslaughter and was jailed for three years. The centre manager, Joseph Stoddart, was found not guilty of the same charges. The case followed the drowning on 22/03/93 of four sixth-formers, Claire Langley, Simon Dunne and Rachel Walker, and Dean Saye, from Southway Comprehensive School in Plymouth, Devon, who were swept out to sea with four other students, two inexperienced instructors and a teacher when they attempted to paddle across Lyme Bay. Interviewer not heard.
