Only one of the ten water companies is pledging to pay compensation to its customers because of the drought. Yet one in three people in England are now experiencing some sort of water restriction. Alison Hodgkins reports. Nicholas Hood, Chairman of the Water Services Association, says users are not really suffering; its down to the individual companies to decide on compensation; defends spending on pipe renewal.
