A high level UN task force is developing a strategy for humanitarian aid to be sent to Somalia. US President George H. W. Bush is willing to commit 30,000 US troops to an international security force. With comment from Whitehouse spokesman Marlin Fitzwater; President of the UN Security Council Andre Erdos. Report on views of acting US Secretary of State Laurence Eagleburger who met with UN Secretary General Boutros Boutros-Ghali earlier this week. Four US ships containing 2,000 marines have been diverted from the Persian Gulf. Report by Paul Woodley.
