The Labour Party leadership contest has been described as a farce as the rules were changed resulting in Ken Livingstone and Bernie Grant being ruled out for lack of support. John Smith, Margaret Beckett and Bryan Gould will contest the leadership, the latter 2 also challenging transport spokesman John Prescott for the deputy leadership. With comment from Smith’s campaign manager Robin Cook, Beckett, Gould and Prescott. Paul Rowley reports from Westminster.
