- Report on a gas explosion at the Valiant Trooper pub on Goodge Street, London. Station Officer Tony Wilmot(?) of Soho (Fire?) Station was among the first to arrive at the scene. 19 people were taken to Middlesex and University College Hospitals for treatment to minor injuries. One of the customers, Keith Gilbert, says he was having a drink with a friend when he heard a loud explosion before everything went dark. Divisional Fire Officer Paul Dempsey says that the 10 people trapped on the first floor were rescued with an extension ladder. Male reporter not identified.
