- Journalists have been found guilty of harassing Sonia Sutcliffe, the wife of Yorkshire Ripper, Peter Sutcliffe. To the director of the Press Council, Kenneth Morgan, it is clear that the coverage of the case was a problem. Mrs Doreen Hill, the mother of Peter Sutcliffe’s final murder victim, was the first to complain to the Press Council about chequebook journalism.
