- Description
- British Coal has officially announced today the loss of more than 1100 jobs at 4 collieries in Yorkshire. The company says the jobs are going to make the pits more efficient against foreign competitors. British Coal Selby group chairman Alan Horton says jobs will be safe until March 1993, but after that there are no guarantees. Miners at Kellingley colliery, one of those affected, give their opinions. Phil Edwards reports from Yorkshire.
