- Andrew Bomford reports on Government plans for a series of nationwide tributes to mark the fiftieth anniversary of the D-Day landings (Operation Overlord) in Normandy in 1944. Thousands of veteran troops will take part from all the allied countries involved in the liberation. The events will take place in Britain and France. Includes interviews with Field Marshal Lord Bramall (Edwin Bramall); speech by Prime Minister, John Major; vox pop with veterans. Also includes a short excerpt of Vera Lynn singing, and archive recording of Field Marshal Montgomery.
