DOMINIC MARNEY speaks about his involvement. 05:10-06:35 - DAVID KERMODE went to Newport for first reactions to the new Newport Pedestrian scheme which aims to make shopping easier. Shoppers give their opinions. 06:38-08:25 - TIM HANDLEY talks to JOHN GREETHAM, a new style of crime buster who chases crime by watching the clouds and weather. 08:33-10:36 - Medina’s Mayor, Councillor NORMAN BARTHOLOMEW, visits Havenstreet who held a Civic Day on the Steam railway, along with other Hampshire mayors and dignitaries. GEORGE RAYMOND, Mayor of Eastleigh, gives his comments on the day. 11:29-18:45 - SIMON VIGAR reports on the Thruxton Motor Circuit. Many people have the chance to go on the tract at speed. The British Automobile Racing Club has its HQ at Thruxton. BARC Circuit Director WARWICK LE FREADY and competitions Director DENIS CARTER talked about the increase in the crowds and the improvement in motor racing. Report on a trip on the skid pan. 18:52-22:43 - GUY HORNSBY talks to ROGER BLACK from Team Solent about the Seoul Olympics and about the American runner FLORENCE GRIFFITH JOYNER, FLO-JO. 22:45-27:10 - This week horses and riders were on the Islands cross-country course at Upton near Ryde. Standing next to one of the jumps, the owner of the course SIMON READ, explained that a good competitor combines speed and technique with accurate judgement of the ground conditions.
