Synopsis
Detective series set in the 1950s, loosely inspired by the character created by GK Chesterton. Father Brown (played by Mark Williams) offers to play the Friar in a production of Shakespeare’s Much Ado About Nothing being put on by the local theatre company, the Kembleford Players. His friend Isabel takes over as Beatrice after the leading lady, Charlotte ‘Charlie’ Maidland, breaks her leg in a fall while Chief Inspector Sullivan soon joins Brown on stage when the actor playing Benedick is murdered - and takes over the dead man’s role.
