Synopsis
Recording of an audiovisual presentation by Julia Reinhard Lupton (UCI English) prepared for the Shakespeare Institute in Stratford-upon-Avon. It explores the Hellenic influences linking Shakespeare’s Cleopatra and Titania from A Midsummer Night’s Dream. It includes three readings performed by Maya Smoot: two from Lucius Apuleius’ The Golden Asse and Cleopatra’s death scene (Act 5 Scene 2) from Shakespeare’s play.
