Synopsis
HAMLET IN THE RENTED WORLD ( A FRAGMENT) is an assemblage by Jerry Tartaglia on behalf of the Gladstone Gallery in New York from materials discovered in the Jack Smith Archives, including five quarter-inch audio reels and four rolls of 16mm film (two of them untouched camera originals), all dating from the early 1970s.

Jack Smith was an American filmmaker, actor, and pioneer of underground cinema. He is generally acclaimed as a founding father of American performance art, and has been critically recognised as a master photographer.
History
The film premiered at the 2014 Berlin Film Festival.
