Synopsis: Poetry celebration of Shakespeare with focus on his sonnets and the use of poetry in his plays. Poetry readings by actors Ion Caramitru and Michael Pennington. The following sonnets and extracts were read at the event: In English and Romanian: Sonnets 18, 116, 129, 130 and 147. In English only: Sonnets 2, 29, 65, 71, 73, 87, 118, 131 and 135. In addition: Mercutio’s "Queen Mab" speech from Romeo and Juliet, "To Be or Not to Be" from Hamlet, and the "dagger" speech from Macbeth.
