Synopsis
Part 19 in a 39-part narrated slide show on Western cultural history by Charles G. Bell of St John’s College, New Mexico. The video edition was produced by artists Steina and Woody Vasulka. The video examines the transition from Renaissance to Baroque through images of paintings and architecture of the period. Bell’s commentary makes many references to Shakespeare and includes readings from his plays and poems.
