Synopsis
First episode in a three-part radio series exploring the story of the Royal Shakespeare Company in Stratford-upon-Avon.

In the first programme, presenter James Naughtie explores the ethos of the ensemble, following RSC artistic director Michael Boyd and interviewing the company cast and creative team as they prepare the new production - Macbeth - which will open the new theatre in April 2011.
