Notes
The production was videotaped twice by the Royal Shakespeare Company - 24 June 1997 (Gertrude played by Diana Quick) and 7 August 1997 (Gertrude played by Susannah York). It was also recorded by the Theatre on Film and Tape (TOFT) at the Opera House, Brooklyn Academy of Music, NY 27 May 1998. This production is catalogued separately.
General
Hannah Kirkham, Charlotte Ryall, Charlie Samunda, Sophie Shirley and Tom Whiteside alternated the role of Child. It is not known who performed in this recording.
History
The production was first staged at the Royal Shakespeare Theatre, Stratford-upon-Avon May 2 1997.
