Titus Trash Tatar

Synopsis

Helga Pogatschar’s experimental audio play is a sound interpretation of Albert Ostermaier’s Tartar Titus (1998), a stage play in which Shakespeare’s Titus becomes a writer whose art has been put at the service of a morally dubious state. Pogatschar’s ‘audio-cinema’ for 2 narrators, 6 voices, 1 violoncello and electronics juggles with samples of words that are analyzed, reversed, pitched, and completely alienated. Over this background, Ostermaier’s/Shakespeare’s text is spoken.
