Twelfth Night

Synopsis
A radio version of Shakespeare’s play produced for broadcasting by John Gibson. With Gwen Cherrell as Viola, Brewster Mason as Sir Toby and other members of the BBC Drama Repertory Company. Marius Goring, who plays Malvolio, also speaks the Prologue written by Paul Dehn and set in the Court of Queen Elizabeth I. The music is composed and conducted by Christopher Whelen.

Broadcast in two parts with at fifteen-minute break for the news at 9pm. Three days before this broadcast, a curtain-raiser in the form of a dramatic reconstruction of THE FIRST NIGHT OF TWELFTH NIGHT had been transmitted on the Home Service (see separate entry).
