Margot Campbell interviews Peter Hall, Director of the Royal Shakespeare Theatre, director Clifford Williams, and Michael Langham, director of the Festival Theatre at Stratford, Ontario, who comment on the problems of a modern director in staging Shakespeare’s plays in a persuasive and meaningful way. Jean-Louis Roux, Jean-Louis Barrault and Kenneth Tynan give their views of the future direction of playwriting.
