General

Richard III was produced and shown in the year which was critical in Polish history: it marked the transfer of power and change of the political system. In June 1989 the first semi-democratic elections after World War II took place and the first non-communist government was formed. Falk’s production, shot in June 1989 and shown in December 1989 poses its own questions about the nature of power,.
