Shakespeare

Synopsis
Two-part radio series in which Jonathan Bate examines how the works of Shakespeare and Mozart have been forged. Part 1 discusses Shakespeare. Since Shakespeare’s death his works have been given alleged additions by unscrupulous ‘experts’. Contributors try to demonstrate what is Shakespeare and what is not. The experts are Professor Michael Dobson (Birkbeck College), Dr Paul Edmondson (Director of Education, Shakespeare Birthplace Trust), Greg Doran (director at the RSC), Jonjo O’Neill and Matt Ryan (RSC actors), Janet Freeman (Shakespeare scholar) and Chris Fletcher, curator of manuscripts at the British Library.
