General
Frances Barber (Goneril) was injured shortly before the opening and the press night was postponed until 1 June 2007. Understudy Melanie Jessop played the role.
History
The production played in repertory from 24 March-21 June 2007 as part of the Complete Works Festival. From 29 June-7 July it played at the Theatre Royal, Newcastle-upon-Tyne and from 19 July 2007 on a world tour. The production played in repertory with The Seagull also directed by Trevor Nunn. The production was also videotaped by Theatre on Film and Tape (TOFT) at the Harvey Theatre, Brooklyn Academy of Music September 19 2007 and this recording is catalogued separately.
