Hitler, Ein Film aus Deutschland

Alternative title
Hitler - A Film from Germany
Synopsis
Feature film in four parts. The life of Hitler conveyed as ‘part theatre, part vaudeville, part magic lantern show...several Hitlers in succession, are interwoven through stylised tableaux, back projected stills, radio speeches, diary entries and performers playing Himmler, Goering, Goebbels etc.' Lanier (op cit) records two significant Shakespeare references - Hitler appears as Hamlet holding up a skull and he later paraphrases Shylock’s line ‘Hath not a Jew eyes ... do I not bleed?'.
