Synopsis
Television version of the highly acclaimed Royal Shakespeare Company 1980 stage production directed for stage by Trevor Nunn and John Caird and adapted by David Edgar from Dickens’ novel. This episode features Nicholas’s time with the Crummles company, playing Romeo in their exuberant version of Romeo and Juliet which seeks a happy ending and defies death itself.
