Uma and the Fairy Queen

Synopsis
Radio crime drama by Mahes Dattani. Bangalore female detective Uma Rao is drawn into a murder investigation when Michael Forsyth, leading actor from a visiting Shakespeare company from London, is kidnapped only to mysteriously reappear in time to play his part as Oberon. Uma, who attends the performance of the play, is about to find out that A Midsummer Night’s Dream can be a real pain in the bottom. Forsyth is murdered after the show. His wife, who plays Titania, is held for questioning and diplomatic relations between India, Pakistan and Britain are at stake. For Uma, the way the first scene of the play was acted by the couple seems to hold all the clues.
