Synopsis
Item from the topical arts magazine series. In 2006/7 the Royal Shakespeare Company staged all Shakespeare’s works in their Complete Works Festival. Comedian Danny Robins is set the task of getting through them in a month. He turns to Dr Laurence Buckman and Dominic Dromgoole (Artistic Director, Shakespeare’s Globe Theatre) for advice. The challenge was continued in episodes transmitted 3 June 2006 and 24 June 2006. The episode 3rd June included brief shots of productions from Northern Broadsides. The concluding episode (24 June 2006) includes interviews with Michael Boyd, Dominic Dromgoole and Bruce Wall, Director of London Shakespeare Workout. There is also a brief clip from the Royal Shakespeare Company’s 2005 production of Much Ado About Nothing with Joseph Milsom as Bendict and Tamsin Grieg as Beatrice. After Robins has viewed his last play (Ninagawa’s Titus Andronicus) he is interviewed about his experiences by Andrew Graham-Dixon.
