Merchant of Venice, The

Synopsis
Educational videotape, in two parts, to help audiences (especially US Grade 9-12 and college students) identify with universal themes in Shakespeare’s plays. The video maintains the language and key themes of the drama with connecting commentary provided by the actor playing Shylock. The action is shown from Shylock’s point of view, a view of a man who is an outsider in the society in which he lives, and who is made to suffer because he is ‘different’.
