Edgar Hamlet

Synopsis
RKO comedy short. A quiet day at home is interrupted by arguments over the source of Shakespearean speeches. Lanier (op cit) notes that the film is ‘revealing for its assumptions about the highbrow status of Shakespeare (the family has to dress properly for a performance of Hamlet), and for Edfar and his mother-in-law’s battle over Shakespearean citations to establish domestic authority’.
