- Documentary. The career of British actress Claire Bloom, paying particular attention to her playing of Shakespearean heroines. ‘Talking head’ delivery is interspersed with excerpts from both film and television productions as well as Bloom performing soliloquies from the speeches of Juliet, Portia, Rosalind, Imogen, Emilia and Volumnia. Includes excerpts from Warde’s RICHARD III (1912), Olivier’s RICHARD 111 (1955), the duelling scene from HAMLET with Sarah Bernhardt (1900) and John Barrymore’s screen test for HAMLET (1933).
