Synopsis
Latin American exploitation film loosely based on Macbeth and set in Venezuela at the turn of the 20th century. Maximiliano (Alvarado) is a good man who has fallen in with a bandit clan. But after three mysterious women tell him that he will never die at the hand of another man, Maximiliano falls prey to his own arrogance and insecurities, and begins to doubt the wisdom of the clan leader, Duran. Maximiliano’s wife (Gomez) plants the notion in her husband’s mind that he would be better off without Duran, and Maximiliano plans to take the life of his one-time friend. Courtney Lehman (op cit) notes ‘the film is laced with over-the-top violence, gratuitous nudity and South American stereotypes’.
