Eddie Sammons in Shakespeare: a hundred years on film. (London: Shepheard-Walwyn, 2000) notes that the film was the first part of a planned trilogy - the second part had been written and featured Malvolio; the third was to be Hamlet. Michael Gough was to star again but it is not known if the project was ever completed.
