Synopsis
Television eight-part series in which on consecutive evenings actors perform extracts from Shakespeare’s plays and poems. Episode 3 - David Walliams performs ‘Honour pricks me on, but how if honour pricks me off’ from Henry IV. Part 1 (V i), Mark Gatiss performs ‘Virture, a fig. ‘tis in ourselves that we are thus or thus..' from Othello (I iii), Mark Lamaar performs ‘I’ll example you with thievery, the sun’s the thing...' from Timon of Athens (IV iii), Delory Atkinson, Ashley Campbell and Oliver Mason perform ‘Lawn as white as driven snow’ from The Winter’s Tale (IV iv), Leo Gregory performs ‘As young as I am I have observed these three swashers’ from Henry V (IV ii), Ralf Little performs ‘What a fool honesty is. In trust his sworn brother, a very simple gentleman’ from The Winter’s Tale (IV iv), Kathryn Drysdale performs ‘It is the bright day that brings forth the adder’ from Julius Caesar (II ii), Simon Pegg performs ‘So oft it chances in particular men’ from Hamlet (AI iv), Alistair McGowan performs ‘Even now I curse the day’ from Titus Andronicus (V i) Catherine Tate performs ‘Thus have I politicly begun my reign’ from The Taming of the Shrew (IV i ) and Fraser James performs ‘Is this a dagger I see before me?' from Macbeth (II i).
