Synopsis: A re-staging for television by Philip Casson of Trevor Nunn’s 1976 RSC stage production. Blends slapstick, song and dance to exuberant effect and popular acclaim. The production features music by composer Guy Woolfenden, who received an Olivier Award for Best New Musical for the show’s London production, and dance routines by Gillian Lynne; Francesca Annis won a BAFTA award for her role as Luciana.
