Julius Caesar: An Introduction

Synopsis
Part of a series of educational films intended to serve as an introduction to each play’s theme or atmosphere. Designed to reproduce the conditions of acting in Elizabethan times such as having the same actors play several roles, thus showing how the plays were originally written for a specific company of actors. Includes extracts from I ii (Caesar, Antony and others in a Roman public place); II i (Brutus in his orchard); III i ('Let us bathe our hands in Caesar’s blood’) and Scene ii (Antony in the Forum); IV iii (Brutus’ tent at Sardis); V iii (Field of battle near Philippi) and Scene 5 (Octavius and Antony at Philippi).
