Play synopsis

A comedy-thriller in which a Harley Street doctor takes up a life of crime in order to conduct research on the emotional reactions of criminals to their mode of employment. He finds it difficult to get out once his research is completed.

Premiered on 6 August 1936 at the Haymarket Theatre, London where it ran for nearly 500 performances; published London: Hamish Hamilton 1936 and London: French 1938.
