Play synopsis

'Tom Davenport is a revue writer faced with a writ for £300 back tax and without a hope of actually paying it. When his niece acquires a fiance, Edward, who is apparently an accountant, Tom turns to him for expert advice on the technique of tax trickery - revealing as shining examples the dodges and fiddles practised by his friends. But Edward is not what he seems...' (Radio Times, 22 March 1962, p. 11).
