Play synopsis

'The story concerns the predicament of the disillusioned and dissolute Georges, who unaccountably falls in love with the innocent Isabelle - in the Louvre. To please her, Georges invents a respectable background for himself, and turns fabrication into fact by hiring a house, parents and a butler. But everything goes wrong.' (TV Times, 10 October 1958).
