Play synopsis

The action takes place in the house of Mr and Mrs Moonlight, between 1881 and 1928. Owing to a fairytale device, Sarah Moonlight’s body was destined never to grow old: appalled by this spell on her, she fled from home at the age of 28, returning only 17 years later under the guise of her own niece. 30 years later she visited again; only her former husband recognizes her and he happily passed away in her arms. Her death swiftly follows.
