Play synopsis

A Scottish comedy. Captain Charlie needs Angus MacKinnon’s croft for the site of a new dam, but Angus is stubborn. At the time it was written, hydro-electric development of the Scottish Highlands was strongly resisted; the play therefore has a slight propaganda element but at heart it’s a tale of a a man from the country vs. a man from the city.
