Summary
BFI Summary - A look at the Scottish Gas Board. The item opens with a brief shot of a gas lamp and gas cooker, illustrating the uses to which gas is put, and an exterior of the Scottish Gas Board works at Westfield, Fife. Inside the works a model and diagram of a new system of boilers - an ignafluid stoker fired system is looked at, and followed by shots of the plant and a map of the Scottish gas grid. A gas pipe in a field ready for laying underground is shown, as are scenes inside the foundry.
