Summary
Babcock and Wilcox synopsis: Commencing with a sequence that describes the nature of "slurry" with one-time waste product of the colliery washeries, this item shows how new mechanical handling developments by Babcock & Wilcox, Ltd., have made it possible to handle and use this difficult, sticky material for the economical firing of power station boilers. The special Babcock rotary hoppers that are the heart of the system are seen during construction at Renfrew Works and in course of installation at the Barony power station of the South of Scotland Electricity Board.
