Summary
BFI Summary - Building, launching and departure of ‘Mayflower II’
NFA synopsis: Looks at the building and sailing to America of the "Mayflower II". Shots of the ship afloat and of her being built are seen, and the launch on 22nd September 1956 is also shown. Now, in the spring of 1957, Josephine Douglas of the BBC goes aboard to meet Alan Villiers, the captain. Provisions are brought on board and the ship sets sail from Brixham. The item ends with a shot of the "Mayflower II" under sail on the open sea.
