NoS Summary - The modern woman seen cycling and rowing through animated diagrams
British Pathe synopsis: The silhouette of a woman with the following words beside it: "Contour of a figure in a sitting position. Now see what happens if the waist is tightly laced. A slender waist is only beautiful when it is part of a slender form." Intertitle follows which reads: "The laced-in figure of days past is no more. Today, our Eves take to the road free and uncramped." M/S of a country road full of women on bicycles. They cycle past the camera. Moving shot of another group of cyclists. This time men and women. "And not frightened of even this." M/S of a woman standing beside a penny farthing bicycle. Other women stand behind laughing. L/S of the woman riding the penny farthing through a woodland, the other women stand and laugh as she passes. "In rowing, too, the body must have full freedom. Even in France, where the next picture was taken, they realise this." M/S of a team of women rowers. They row away from the camera. L/S of the rowers making their way up river. High angle shot of two teams of rowers racing along the river. Shots of crowds watching the race including a woman holding a dog in her arms and pointing at the rowers.
