- Summary
- British Pathe synopsis: "The Grand Parade... (South African version)" M/S of a group of Zulus wearing traditional dress on their bottom halves and what looks like striped rugby shirts on their top halves. They pass the camera in a line. M/S of a group of black spectators standing behind a fence. M/S of the tribesmen performing a traditional dance. "Meet the Band..." C/U of man in traditional dress banging a large drum and singing. "And the band of hope... (and movement)." M/S of the group of dancers. They dance in the dust. They hold spears so it seems to be a war dance. C/U of a man dancing in an eccentric fashion - he looks like he may be in some kind of trance. He moves very quickly with odd jerky movements, then falls down onto the ground. L/S of audience applauding, some stand under umbrellas to keep the sun off. "A six-foot spear is the most-pointed argument of the Zulu language..." The spears are laid on the ground in a row and the Zulus dance beside them. "Gentlemen with Dusters." The men dance very quickly making lots of dust rise up.
