British Pathe synopsis: "Meet Mr W Reid Dick, the famous Sculptor of the Kitchener Memorial, (St. Paul’s) and the Lion on the Menin Gate, etc." C/U of Mr Dick as he works on an elegant sculpture. "The advantage of the Sculptor is that he writes in almost indelible material - stone. But, at first his conception is "written" in plaster." L/S of the sculptor at work. We see his model in the foreground. She stands in a dynamic pose with fabric swathed around her body. M/S of the girl. Various shots of the model. The sculptor puts some finishing touches to his piece. He smiles and laughs as he works. "This preliminary plaster work took six months - " The model is turned - it is of two goddess-like women holding the reins of a horse. "Later his labour is translated into Portland stone - and here is the result...(on Unilever House)." Low angle shot of the statue in place. Closer shot of the statue.
