Summary
NoS Summary - A group of hikers walking through the countryside.
British Pathe synopsis: Introductory intertitle reads: "That’s how the song goes - and that’s how Eve goes when she joins Adam in this modern recreation development." M/S of large group of people setting off on a walk. They walk up a hill in a village. Another shot shows them walking down a village. "It’s a moot point whether Eve prefers shirts, shorts or trousers (perhaps next year it may be bathing costumes!) but thin shoes are certainly taboo", advises Capt. Welsh of the "Hiker & Camper". High angle of the hikers walking towards the camera. Camera moves along in front of them, presumably on a car. "One of life’s puzzles to Eve is route planning from the map. This gives Adam a good chance to display his expert knowledge - " Shots of the hikers all crowded around a map. A woman laughs as a man tells her how it is done. M/S of a man handing round a tray of drinks. High angle shot of the hikers in a field sitting around and enjoying a drink. Various shots of them relaxing. "Far from the crowded City - through the byways and woods, the happy "hikers" of 1931 - and many a sigh will follow them." Various shots of the hikers walking through the countryside.
