- COI synopsis: Training to be an ice-skating champion is a long, hard road. After gold medals having been won by John Curry in the 1976 Olympics and by Robin Cousins in 1980, it is not too early to be looking for their successor. Vicki Luke goes to Richmond Ice Rink to meet 19-year-old Chris Howarth who is Britain’s hope for the 1984 Olympics.
